The Brea Congregational Sanctuary

The church sanctuary provides a handsome yet dignified setting for your ceremony. The interior space features soft muted colors, the extensive use of natural rock, a soaring open-beam ceiling, and a wide, center aisle for the bride’s entrance. The sanctuary’s focal point is a striking stained-glass cross that acts as a full-wall backdrop to the altar. The sanctuary has a total seating capacity for 278 guests and is air-conditioned.

The rental fee for the sanctuary is $375, or $750 for non-members. This fee covers the use of the facility up to 4 hours and includes the assistance of our wedding hostess, candelabras, pew bows, utilities, and other items of service. Pulpit microphone, lectern microphones, and a sound technician are also included with this fee.

If you would like to preview this facility, please call the church office for an appointment, or visit during church services at 10AM every Sunday.

Early Planning
To make certain that the church and our ministers are available for your special day, please reserve the date and time for your wedding as far in advance as possible. Initial contact should be made to the church office secretary at (714) 529-3014. A $100 non-refundable deposit will secure your wedding date on the church calendar.

Church Sanctuary Security Deposit
A $150 security deposit is also required at the time the church is reserved, and is refundable one week following the ceremony if there are no damages to the sanctuary. In addition, should there be any late fees accrued during the rehearsal (see YOUR WEDDING REHEARSAL), these fees will also be deducted from your security deposit.

Our Ministers
The ministers of the Brea Congregational Church are available to help couples create a ceremony that will be both personal and unique. The fee for one of our ministers is $300 for non-members and includes counseling and officiating during the ceremony. There is no charge for these services for church members. You are also welcomed to use the services of your own officiant or minister.  If you wish to use your own officiant, please make arrangements with the church office.

The Hostess
We are pleased to provide you with the services of a “Wedding Hostess”. Once your ceremony date has been confirmed with the church office, the hostess will contact you to clarify all of the details relating to your event, and to assist you in making your ceremony a beautiful and memorable event. The hostess will attend to the bride, the bridal party, and to supervise all last minute details during the rehearsal, as well as before, during, and after the ceremony.

Sancturary Flowers and Decorations

The church suggests that you consult a professional florist to help you with your flowers and any decorations for your ceremony. Should you desire, white satin pew bows and two standing candelabras are available for your use at no additional charge.  The Brea Congregational Church does not restrict your choice of florists to a pre-selected list.  Many qualified floral artists are available in the area to create beautiful accents for your special day.

Music
Our sanctuary is home to the only true pipe organ in North Orange County. Beautifully played by an accomplished organist, both organ and accompanist can be available for your wedding ceremony. Professional vocal and instrument soloists are also available. Please consult the church office for more details and fees for organist, soloist, or to make arrangements for the use of your own musicians.

Photography and Videography

Though we do allow some photography inside the sanctuary, we respectfully request that you and your professional photographer/videographer consult with the minister to make arrangements for photography so not to disrupt the sanctity of the occasion. Should your own minister be officiating, please inform the wedding hostess so we may assist your photographer/videographer in planning appropriate ways to document your memorable event.

During receptions, and at times other than during the actual ceremony, your photographer and videographer are welcome to make creative use of the Fellowship Hall, Palm Patio, and other outdoor areas in commemorating your special day.

The Rehearsal

The minister and wedding hostess will ask that all members of the wedding party be available to attend a rehearsal. Rehearsals generally take one hour, and are usually held the evening prior to the ceremony. It is standard practice to present your marriage license at that time.

Should your rehearsal run longer than 90 minutes from the scheduled start time, a $25 fee per half hour will be added to cover the further use of the facility and the time of the church staff. This fee will be deducted from the security deposit.

Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Reception
To add to the convenience and comfort of your family and your friends, the Brea Congregational Fellowship Hall is located just steps from the sanctuary. For more information about holding your rehearsal dinner or wedding reception at this facility, please see DINNERS & EVENTS AT FELLOWSHIP HALL.
